I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor ( LCPC ) as well as a Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC). I hold a Masters degree in Counseling and Human Services (2007), as well as an Educational Specialist Degree in School Psychology (2008), from The University of Idaho.
I have experience working with diverse populations of adults and families. Prior to starting a private practice, I worked in the public education system since 2007, both as a school counselor and as a school psychologist. In 2011, I began putting more focus into my private practice as I enjoy the more in-depth approach of working with clients.
I have received post-graduate training in work with couples and individual clients suffering from relationship stress, depression, anxiety disorders, trauma, grief, life transitions, stress management, conflict resolution and women’s issues as well as various serious and persistent mental and physical illnesses.
I employ the use of an integrative approach in therapy which assists clients in their process of working through and with life experiences. Primarily utilizing emotion focused therapy (EFT) which helps identify negative cycles and patterns. It has been successful in helping distressed individuals, couples and families improve their relationships and deepen their bonds. Such therapy is particularly well-suited to people who feel “stuck”, are struggling with life transitions, and have a genuine desire to pursue personal and professional growth. I love what I do and feel blessed to be able to interact with diverse individuals daily. I truly believe that we all do the best we can and that we always have options and room for growth.
